Amex Gold wins by $288/year for your spending

Based on $1,850/month total spend at 1.5 cents per point

How This Calculator Works

Point valuation: Both Membership Rewards and Ultimate Rewards are valued at 1.5 cents per point, which represents a reasonable transfer partner redemption. Statement credit value is lower (0.6-1.0cpp), while sweet spot redemptions can reach 2-5cpp.

Amex Gold earn rates: 4x restaurants (cap $50K/yr), 4x US supermarkets (cap $25K/yr), 3x flights booked direct, 1x everything else.

CSP earn rates: 5x Chase Travel portal, 3x dining, 3x streaming, 3x online grocery, 2x other travel, 1x everything else. This calculator uses 5x for travel (assumes portal booking) and 1x for grocery (assumes in-store shopping).

Credit usage: “All” assumes you use all $424 in Gold credits and CSP's $50 hotel credit. “Some” assumes $240 in Gold credits (dining + Uber only) and CSP's $50. “None” assumes no credits are used.

Limitations: Does not account for sign-up bonuses (one-time), DoorDash DashPass value, 10% CSP anniversary bonus, or point value differences between MR and UR. Results are estimates, not guarantees.
